District?

[edit]

The Postcode_district section here defines the postcode district as the end of the out code (e.g. the 19 in SW19). The List of postcode districts ... page equates the "district" with the complete out code (e.g. SW19). Being pedantic I know, but which defines "district"? -- GhostInTheMachine (talk) 11:34, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hackney was an NE

[edit]

Article includes "Some older road signs in Hackney still show the North East (NE) sector/district." Can anyone provide photographic evidence for this? Geofpick (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 12:05, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Design Limitations: original research?

[edit]

The section “Design limitations” reads a bit like someone’s individual essay, and none of the perceived shortcomings or potential measures to avoid them are sourced individually. -- pne (talk) 18:26, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I have removed this material. Furius (talk) 19:45, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Potential use of AI

[edit]

Parts of this article (such as the 'Postcode districts and numbering' section) read a lot like AI to me. There are some factual errors, and the way the section is laid out generally looks like it. Gksgnk7 (talk) 20:08, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

The Postcode lottery article, despite its hatnote claim, contains a negligible amount of information about the disparity in services etc. between different geographic areas and a lot about other (non-postal) uses of postcodes. Merged content from that article would better fit within the "Other uses" section of this article. BobKilcoyne (talk) 03:46, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
